Product Overview

The Holmium Laser uses pulsed, solid-state laser tech. It is designed to support advanced minimally invasive urological surgery and precision soft tissue ablation. The machine runs on a 2.1 μm wavelength that is highly absorbed by water. This helps medical staff achieve rapid stone fragmentation (lithotripsy) and controlled hemostasis. It works much more efficiently than traditional open surgical methods.

Depending on the specific model and clinical environment, the machine can change its settings. It can adjust pulse energy, repetition frequency, and pulse width. This allows it to switch smoothly between stone dusting, fragmentation, and precise tissue cutting.

The unit usually integrates a visible aiming beam and a protective laser coupling system. These features ensure stable energy transmission through flexible optical fibers.

This urology laser equipment is suitable for urology departments, operating rooms, emergency surgery, lithotripsy centers, and private clinics.

Why Hospitals & Clinics Need a Holmium Laser

1. Superior Stone Fragmentation Power

Traditional mechanical or pneumatic lithotripsy often leaves large, sharp stone fragments. These fragments are difficult for patients to pass naturally. A holmium laser provides the distinct clinical advantage of "stone dusting." It breaks urinary calculi down into a fine, sand-like powder. This significantly improves successful stone clearance rates and reduces the need for secondary retreatment procedures.

2. Maximum Patient Safety in Delicate Zones

Operating within the narrow lumens of the ureter and renal pelvis carries a high risk of tissue perforation or thermal injury. The holmium laser's energy dissipation is strictly localized to a fraction of a millimeter. It prevents unintended collateral damage to the delicate urothelium. This allows surgeons to safely vaporize stones even when they are tightly impacted against the ureteral wall.

3. Transition from Open Surgery to Day-Case Procedures

In the past, complex or large staghorn stones required highly invasive open or percutaneous surgeries. These methods forced patients to stay in the hospital for a long time. Using holmium laser tech allows medical facilities to move most stone cases to invasive, day-case procedures. This dramatically shortens patient recovery times, lowers infection rates, and frees up critical hospital bed capacity.

Key Clinical Applications

Application Area

Suitable Clinical Conditions

Upper Urinary Tract Interventions

Renal calculus (Kidney stones): Staghorn stones, pelvic stones, upper/lower pole calyceal stones.

Lower Urinary Tract Interventions

Ureteral calculus: Impacted upper, middle, and lower ureteral stones.

Bladder stones: Large solitary bladder calculi, secondary bladder stones.

Urethral calculus: Acute urethral obstructions, impacted urethral stones.

Emergency & Acute Urology Care

Acute obstructive anuria, stone-induced hydronephrosis, and colicky obstructions requiring immediate endoscopic lithotripsy intervention.

Specialized Lithotripsy Center Use

Routine retro-grade intrarenal surgery (RIRS), rigid/flexible ureteroscopy (URS), and mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy (mini-PCNL).

Product Structure & Technology Highlights

l Smart User Interface: This system uses an intuitive digital control screen. It can automate  power tracking and system status displays. The screen includes built-in safety self-checks, self-locking locks, and an emergency termination safety protocol.

l Laser Coupling Protection System: This system is built with an innovative adaptive coupling device. It protects the internal coupling lens from back-spatter caused by accidental fiber damage during procedures.  This heavily reduces maintenance costs.

l Ultra-Low Mute Technology: Special acoustics create a calm, comfortable operating room environment. It prevents loud cooling fan noises from distracting the surgical team.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Does this urology laser equipment require special power supply modification?

No, special electrical modifications are not required. Both models run on a standard, conventional 220VAC/50Hz power supply. This makes the machine highly mobile and easy to set up across different operating rooms and private clinics. It is not necessary to  perform complex building reconfigurations.

2. What is the difference between the 75W and 65W models?

Both models share the same technical foundations. They use the exact same 2,100 nm wavelength, built-in water cooling, and a standard 220VAC power supply. The main difference is their highest laser power output. Choosing between them depends on your department needs. A 75W system gives faster stone-breaking speeds, while a 65W system offers standard power for routine endourological cases.

3. How do the clinical indications of the 75W and 65W models differ in practice?

Both models are highly effective for comprehensive urinary stone management. However, they fit different facility needs:

l The 75W System: This model offers higher peak power settings. It is ideal for large hospitals and high-volume surgical centers. They frequently treat complex, hard, or staghorn calculi requiring rapid "stone dusting" speeds.

l The 65W System: This model serves as an excellent, high-efficiency configuration for standard operating rooms and private clinics. They focus primarily on routine ureteral and bladder stone fragmentation.

4. How should medical procurement teams select the right optical fibers and consumables?

Reusable optical fibers come in various core diameters, usually from 200 μm to 1000 μm. Choosing the right size depends on the surgery:

l Retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) using flexible ureteroscopes: Ultra-thin fibers (200365 μm) are highly recommended. They can maintain maximum scope deflection and irrigation flow.

l Rigid cystoscopy or percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) targeting large bladder or kidney stones: Thicker fibers (5501000 μm) should be selected. They deliver maximum energy impact without fiber degradation.
